Why is 'cowboy' a pejorative? You're denigrating an all-American icon! Think of Gary Cooper in High Noon...

10. Tax cut structure

What specifically is wrong with it. I can think of some ways that it could be done better but not enough for it to be a reason for me to be against Bush.

9. Protectionism

This is a decent anti-Bush reason but not a strong one in my opinion. Protectionism for specific groups gets pushed by just about every president even those who have reputations as free traders. Still its worth putting on the list.

8. Disregard for the non-religious

We've pretty much talked about this issue already even if it wasn't a directly in the context of a reason not to vote for Bush.

Abuse of the non-religious would be a reason for me to vote against Bush but I don't think either of us thinks that has happened. Even short of abuse I don't think Bush has really done anything wrong here.

7. Tone of the administration-

I think some of the swagger was a good thing but the administration may have gone to far. Not a reason against Bush for me but not a reason to vote for him either.

6. Amnesty

??

5. Big nanny

Bush's ideas are too much in support of the nanny state IMO but every candidates are. I don't think Bush pushed the nanny state more then anyone one else running.

4. He's just not my kind of people--someone with whom I can identify

I highly personal reason. Doesn't really apply to me, at least not more so then it would apply to jut about anyone who would run for president.

3. Preemptive and unnecessary war in Iraq

As you know I'm not really against it, even if I am not in full out cheering mode for it either.

2. Stem cell research

Another subject we've already debated that isn't a reason for me to vote against him.

1. Deficit

Now this is a good one for me, not enough for me to vote against him but a solid point that I agree with. Although it would be number 2 at most for me. Number 1 would be the related issue of spending. I'd rather have 3/4ths the current level federal spending with the current deficit then I would have 1.25 times the current spending with half the current deficit or even no deficit. Spending combined with the deficit, some protectionism and a few other things are enough for me to not be very exited about voting for Bush.
