I don't think AMD is a big deal wrt Intel's stock price either. What Intel and Cisco and friends need is a high ASP, US based capex cycle. The durable goods numbers, as a whole have been a huge disappointment. Capex just isn't happening, or isn't happening to the degree that it needs to to get these companies to rally. Cisco in the same boat.

This kind of thing is really a mixed blessing imho,

The Dell numbers as a whole were on balance a positive for tech though.

that is a complete BS - Compaq was not selling Opterons before HP took over. Itanium was not exactly a cash cow for HP so they are going with an alternative....
