LOL
That drives the message home...especially the cheerleaders in background.

Some excerpts from John Snow testimony:
--He met with Chinese in Bejing & told them they need to move to a more flexible exchange rate. They acknowledged that it's necessary but can't do it tomorrow. Snow says he's holding Chinese feet to the fire on that issue.

--He believes it's possible many laid-off IT workers took their separation stipend & started home businesses which would explain disparity in payroll employment #s & household survey. He said that's a hypothesis that needs to be quantified.

--Snow said U.S. still has vital mfg sector; however not as many workers needed due to productivity, technology.

--Mfg in OH, IN, PA, MI hit a wall starting Sum/2000 & those states are beginning to show better results but jobs still lag.

--He said corps paid less taxes recently because due to poor economy corps had less to be taxed.
As result of Pres tax cuts the share of burden rises on highest income & falls on lowest.

--if tax rebates are repealed, it will destroy economic recovery that is now in progress. "If you want more of something, you should tax it less." We should wait until recovery is complete before addressing deficit

--if illegals are brought out of shadows & placed on tax rolls it will benefit economy. Must make sure illegals are not an underground econ.

Senator Nickels elicited opinion from Snow that the tax code must be modernized so that it makes American corps more internationally competitive.
They discussed a shell game being played due to loophole in tax code that has even resulted in American taxpayers subsidizing subway being built in Berlin??
