The Unocal deal the Taliban is probably the most covered up part of Cheney's energy plan. The reports indicate that Cheney and an afgan named Zalmay Khalilzad were planning on cutting the Taliban in on a big pipeline deal, but first they had to distance themselves from Al Qaeda. This threatened Bin Laden, so he approved the 9/11 attack to break up the deal. So far the Bin Laden plan to wait in Pakistan for Junior to get tired of Afganistan seems right on track. TP
