You can also access the restore points without having to go into Safe Mode. Launch System Restore and then put a dot in the restore to an earlier time and click next. Restore points are visible on the calendar in bold lettering. You click on the date you want to restore to and choose (if there is more than one) a restore point made that day and then click next and you will be prompted the rest of the way.
