It was Ted's, not mine. I just quoted him. However, I wouldn't rule it out. I actually see it as much more likely than your scenario. What outsiders could take us over?

I sorta can see the civil war scenario because I really see two different Americas emerging. Not in the same vein as John Edwards, though.

Got too many people that like to run their mouths and get attention, but they get quite when it's time to put up or shut up. And you have too many people that want to accept the path of least resistance as the best (least costly and painful) path to the most ideal future.

Too many candy asses. The very conditions that have led to the stagnation of our living standard for almost 30 years now.
