Well, my roots are on the opposite side. We do have in our possession a copy of our family tree. My American ancestor first came to America as a Hessian soldier and was captured at the Battle of Trent when Washington crossed the Deleware. He was a POW the balance of the war and when it ended he was offered passage back to Germany OR a land grant in Pennsylvania (Westmoreland county which at that time was all of western PA). He took the land grant and from there on my family tree gets REALLY interesting. haha. jdn
