a basic requirement is willingness to defend the US by any means necessary. Kerry has been very vocal on the use of force only with the permission of the UN. The thrust from the left is that we have "alienated" our "Allies" by being "Unilateral." You are going to have to sort out what they say from what it is obvious they will do. The Pacificists are on the left. They will do what they can to see that any Dem President avoids taking action. There are Paleoconservatives on the right that oppose our actions, but would who would be willing to go after anyone who attacks us without the agreement of the French, Chinese, and Russians. This attitude is not to be seen on the left.
