Consider the source though. Drudge is a proven liar, especially on anti-Kerry stories. Five false ones in a row. Drudge offers no proof, no source, no apology, lots of hype, Clark and Kerry deny it, the woman's parents say there was no affair.

CNN stated that this was similar to the Bush Sr. story. No witnesses, no evidence, no souce, no proof, just a rumor. The Bush Sr. story is just as credible or incredible as the Kerry story, but the point is this time we know the gossiper. Drudge is a well-known rightwing attack dog with a poor record of truthfulness. I'll bet not more than 10-20% of Drudge "scoops" are true.

This was obviously a Drudge attempt to help the struggling Bush campaign and hope to get struck by lightning twice. He did report the Monica Lewinsky affair (his claim to fame) which turned out to be right. But Clinton and Kerry are two very different kinds of people and no special prosecutor is going through Kerry's dirty laundry. The morph job here won't cut it. This is not Whitewater or Genifer Flowers and it may actually be nothing at all but a noxious rumor.
