geode00,

How in the world did you find that Stiglitz article? I tried to bring it up in Google News and it didn't exist there.

It's a pity that the article may get read by a mere handful of U.S. citizens. Stiglitz is making some important contributions to the discussion of globalization and U.S. monetary and foreign policy. But you sure could not tell it from the coverage he gets at home.

Iran and Iraq both looking very unstable now. Possible civil war in each country. And now we're right in the middle of it. Maybe that was the neocon and oilmens' plan. Force the US military into both those countries and seize the oil-fields, planning and costs be damned. I believe if Bush is re-elected, we'll end up invading Iran too. Togther, those two really could be as bad as Vietnam. And all for oil, it would seem. Meanwhile gas prices have been sky-high under Bush ever since Day 1. They love that down in Texas and in Saudi Arabia.
