Looks as though Michael Powell is a Tele-communications lawyer & was already working as an FCC commissioner for some yrs, so his appointment wasn't completely outrageous. He had a slightly flippant attitude while testifying to congressional committee on decency...that's when I noticed his last name. There was quite a storm of criticism of FCC after SuperBowl. It's obvious they've not even tried to enforce indecency laws in recent yrs. Hopefully Janet did everyone a favor & we might once again be able to watch TV & listen to radio with our children.

You're correct about the timeline. Colin Powell needed to be coaxed to take the job, but he's done an outstanding job for his country. Although, I heard a Dem senator scold him during testimony last wk & remind him to take into consideration the effects on American workers when formulating foreign policy???? Wonder what that was all about?
