Kerry's $640,000 from lobbyists is a small amount actually because it's over 20 years. Many of those so-called "lobbyists" are lawyers and such attending his fundraisers hoping to get close to him. But that doesn't mean Kerry does them any favors. The fundraisers I've been to with Kerry haven't had a single special interest anything anywhere. In fact we were speficically told if anyone offers a check and asks for anything in return, to turn down the check.

The Wash Post article was misleading because it didn't mention the fact Kerry never takes PAC or soft money. That's huge. For instance, Lieberman took $250,000 from Enron. Kerry never took that type of money. That's the real nasty money, not the $1000 checks from lawyers and lobbyists which the $640,000 mainly represents. Kerry isn't for sale for $1,000,000 and certainly not for $1000. As president he won't be for sale to anyone.
