I'm not intellectually lazy. I'm just not buying your dogma that privatization and deregulation are the solution to all economic ills. You are willing to accept some article on the web because it aligns with your biases. I do not accept your souce's opinion. The positive effect could have as easily been caused by a collective delusion that they could print as much money as they wanted to spur the economy and that it would never catch up to them because of the currency being tied to the dollar.

So we are equal, you haven't proven that the deregulation and privatization caused any positive effect other than quoting "some guy on the web". Wow, I'm impressed. Good proof. And I haven't proven that the reforms had no positive effect. But I'm more concerned that you haven't proven your point. That was my original point anyway.

As for the "it would be a mistake to say that cancer treatments
are the cure for auto accidents"
I misspoke on that one. That statement makes really no sense at all. My point was that you assume that the cancer treatments were working. That's a very big assumption. You take it as a given and it is NOT a given. Sometimes it feels like certain pro-capatalist idealogues would say that the cancer treatment is so good it will cure you even if you have heart disease. No matter what you've got, this will cure it. That is the stance. And that I feel is just plain incorrect. It's the Republican 3 trick pony, the only tricks they know are privatize, deregulate and cut taxes. That will be good even if you are creating a $500 billion a year deficit.
