Being old enough to remember our thriving small town community it just kills me to see this thing called progress. I forgot of course the other stores and 3 cafes, none of which exist anymore either. We are a shell or bedroom community. Just a group of houses in the same place on the map. Sad and my kids never got to see it when it was good.

My great grandfather walked here from a little town about 35 miles down the road and put his roots down in the late 1800's. I think he and my grandfather lived through they hay day of our area. Hunting anywhere you wanted to go has been replaced by posted signs on every fence post. Neighborhood parties have been replaced by a whole bunch of big city folks buying their piece of the country and they are way too busy putting up posted signs and working in the city to get to know the neighbors.

Oh well. I think I was born a generation late.
