Kerry has his problems that he will have to try to overcome. The Nader point is that there is much that can happen between now and November and only the naive ignore it. Nader and or Kerry doing his Gary Hart impersonation could derail the campaign.

I think the next month is going to be very interesting.

Sex stories without evidence, sources or proof of wrongdoing are not real stories, and they might not even matter that much if they are. Besides, who's to say Edwards hasn't gotten it on with someone besides his wife? Or anyone else? Even GW.

Bush Sr. had such a rumor hit him and there was even some kind of photo as I remember, but the story never materialized because Bush denied it and nobody stepped forward a la Gennifer Flowers. Even Gennifer Flowers did not derail Clinton. He went on to be a very successful president for 8 years. Gary Hart was hit by a photo he was very foolish to pose for. Don't exopect Kerry to make mistakes like that, whether he ever cheated on Theresa or not.

The difference this time is the internet rumor-spreading machine. But people like Drudge have very little credibillity and obvious malicious motives. This means the only ones interested are the tabloids, and even they have to be careful not to be sued for libel.
