How do you know which things are best left to the market and which are best left to committee?

I only addressed health care. As I have repeatedly explained in my posts, the reason I believe that a national health care system run by the government will be better than what we have now is the statistics of how other national health care system perform over many decades, compared to our performance. The numbers say that national health systems beat our system consistently by a mile.

We can keep experimenting with the market, but already half of our system (Medicare and Medicaid) is government run and very unlikely to change. The chances of success by a half and half market/government system are slim. We better cut our losses before entrenched interests make a move to a national health care system impossible.
