Because they're trying to win the Democratic nomination. Do you really think someone who said what Friedman said Kerry should say could win it? They're trying to stir up the troops now by bashing Bush while trying to make the primary voters think they have the right stuff. You won't see any foreign policy plank before the nomination is in the bag. The nominee will have to have something at least by the debates, but before the convention is suicide.

why has no one spoken up for it.

There are 163 bookmarks for this thread. I haven't read every word, but I don't remember anyone advocating cut and run. I challenge anyone who supports that to stand up and be counted.
