Chart of 'Bush Approval Ratings', Feb'01-to-Feb'04 - washingtonpost.com

Note the spikes, intense one 11.09.01, then lesser one on drumbeating for Iraq invasion, lesser still for capture of Hussein, overall a slide however, from Oct'01 to present ...... 'war president', 'war on my mind', you can see how this attitude could come about, it is very useful in partisan politics for Bush to convince voters of the desirability of permawar as the sole focus of national effort ... therefore, imho, the possibilities of them marketing a new invasion, starting around august or september, are quite strong .... most likely invadee being Syria?

There will be huge effort expended to evade discussion of the cost .... the killed and wounded, the alienation of countries who would naturally be allies of the US under a less juvenile admin, and of the resulting massive deficits - brillig.com
