Yes, so to speak. He has been grooming himself for the run for quite some time. I'm not saying he was trying to get on the ticket in 2000, but he was far to concerned with what people in Iowa and NH thought of him far too early for my taste. I'd have to go back through articles to get the timeline right, but it was enough to irk me.

I find that a little hard to believe that he never voted; however, if its true, then I agree with you.

I didn't say never, I said rarely. It was one of those things you see in an off the cuff interview. He basically said he'd been detached from politics for a long time, hadn't voted in awhile, etc.

I don't know the voters in NC but it says a lot about someone who runs for the Senate and wins when its his first elected office. Maybe it is his looks that has women all agog

I think that was part of it. Also, the Rep running against him was not that strong a candidate.
