Abelson Suggests Outsourcing Mankiew and Econ. Advisors. Alan was very funny this week in Barron's, making both the humorous point but also the very real point that India could certainly put together a Team of Economists that would do at least as well as Mankiew's department--at half the cost. To this I add Jim Willie CB's reminder of the major dry spell since an American Economist won a Nobel--and Abeleson's point that US Govt. Economists have not exactly done stellar work over time.
