RtS, an easier way to look for SOX leadership is to chart the ratio $sox:$compq stockcharts.com[e,a]dalaniay[df][pf][vc60]&pref=G

The sox is in a LT strengthening trend since Oct'02.

I'd say 'only' 5% because there has been a fairly large rotation out of semi's and apparently into biotech. if the biotech segment was trading near highs the Nasdaq would be off a lot more than 5%.
