The GOP are trying to drag everyone down into the mud. Actually mud is a compliment. More like literal BS.
They know they can't win on issues so are using their operatives to throw any wild rumor they can find out there. They'd better be careful. Those who throw stones from glass houses ---

Remember when Larry Flynt got House Speaker Livingston to resign? He also had some hot stuff on GW Bush. The RNC may be created many-many Larry Flynts. The net result is cheating the American people of discussion of real issues. Howwver, Senator Kerry will not give in. He and his wife have been ready for this filth.

Buying off the Governor's wife?
Texas first lady Anita Perry announced Thursday that she has accepted a $60,000-a-year job as a fund-raiser and special consultant to the Texas Association Against Sexual Assault, an Austin-based advocacy organization.

dfw.com

Note how Mrs. Perry's job is completely financed by grants from the state of Texas. She receives about a quarter of their appropriation.

The association receives $160,000 in grant money administered by the state, and Anita Perry will have no role in any effort to renew the grants when they expire next August.

Maybe the divorce rumor is just her way of negotiating a raise.
