Why not? All presidents, under the war powers act, has the right to declare war, whether you like it or not. Change the act, then blame the pres.


Why change the act? Just enforce the Constitution.

Hmaly, I don't have a problem with an elected President having the right to declare war. The President is the CIC of the armed forces.

What I have a problem with is that all members of the armed forces are subject to the UCMJ and the President (CIC) is not subject to it. A good case in this point is a female B-52 pilot who lost her job because of an affair (a UCMJ offense). And as you might guess this is not a rare isolated instance, it's just one that got a lot of public attention during a period when a former President's character and trustworthiness were being questioned.
