Was the New Testament Influenced by Pagan Religions

That is irrefutable and undeniable ...one has only to see the pictures of Hercules or the Dolphin symbols in the earliest Christian catacombs to know this. Or in the earlier Hebraic/Kabbalist religion , the word for the Lord's Day the Sabbath was taken right out from Babylonian "Sabbatu" . And there is also the question of the miracles, of which there can be no doubt that these were borrowed as well.

But I think more of an important question today of who here are the true Christians , and who are the surviving infidel pagans posing as Christians ?

The Evangelicals?
The Catholics ?
Or the Protestants?

Just a little bit funny how each has thought that the other is ....

.... which is in a "striking parallel" way to this pagan roots vs Christian origins refutation , is also somehow not surprising. Once Paganism is demolished whenever it is thought to be encountered , from the earliest persecutions and massacres and Temple destructions...they have turned time and time again upon each other . Until a secular free and democratic society emerges to stop the all of that killing .

(Also almost irretrievably makes the case for the theory of evolution , that we are absolutely and undeniably the distant descendants of sometimes quite vicious & quarrelous primates before us , and this was the ultimate truth after all ? And undeniable DNA does prove this to be the case . )

But I do think in my heart of hearts , Jesus could have handled the idea of evolution easily ....once he grasped the concept and more information was available to him.

Of what it does say about our own origins as a species evolving from out of older edens into new , as did the theologies and doctrines of our minds creation did as well as the light of discovery marched on , and the need for comforting symbols bespeaks the need of the mind for peace.

;)

One day some men of Gotham were walking by the riverside, and came to a place where the contrary currents caused the water to boil as in a whirlpool. "See how the water boils!" says one. "If we had plenty of oatmeal," says another, "we might make enough porridge to serve all the village for a month." So it was resolved that part of them should go to the village and fetch their oatmeal, which was soon brought and thrown into the river. But there presently arose the question of how they were to know when the porridge was ready. This difficulty was overcome by the offer of one of the company to jump in, and it was agreed that if he found it ready for use, he should signify the same to his companions. The man jumped in, and found the water deeper than he expected. Thrice he rose to the surface, but said nothing. The others, impatient at his remaining so long silent, and seeing him smack his lips, took this for an avowal that the porridge was good, and so they all jumped in after him and were drowned.

Another traditional Gothamite story is related of a villager coming home at a late hour and, seeing the reflection of the moon in a horse-pond, believed it to be a green cheese, and roused all his neighbours to help him to draw it out. They raked and raked away until a passing cloud sank the cheese, when they returned to their homes grievously disappointed.
