But there are several areas we could focus on to mitigate the problem, including: comprehensive reform of the corrupt tax code, elimination of subsidies and corporate welfare programs (reducing the above-inflation growth rate of entitlement programs as well), ending the harmful practice of deficit financing, improve and make more readily available education --- particularly science and technology. Lastly, where the government stands in the way of economic growth that is long-term healthy --- as it does with the tax codes and the vast majority of subsidies --- it should get out of the way.
