That's a great refinement to the chart Gottfried. It looks like to me that as long as any test of the 200 day sma holds on that chart that the uptrend should still be in place. If however the 200 day sma is violated and the SOX continues downward at a percentage loss basis higher than the NASDAQ itself then long investors may end up wishing they had locked in gains.

I'm still hoping to buy what I hope will become a little deeper dip and profit from the long side of the equation again. Virtually every single time I have shorted a stock associated with the SOX since October of 2002 it has been tough to escape with anything resembling a profit.

Things look worse on this chart though showing more potential for the SOX to breakdown in my opinion:
