Sigh
you said it was a "secret"
obviously it wasn't

As for your distaste for "Berkley, Canada, France, Germany and Russia", who can argue with such global disdain? The movie didn't open here until January 2004, so that explains its venues- and BTW our allies the Brits liked it a lot too. You forgot them. I am sure it was shown in other coalition countries as well. I could list them, but I don't see the point.

OSAMA is the first feature film produced in the post-Taliban era in Afghanistan, this is a remarkable statement about the freedom of artistic expression... this is a very high tribute to our military success in a previously Taliban controlled country... the fact that a feature film was produced and with the quality look competitive of theatrical motion pictures anywhere else is also a great tribute to the film maker and Director for his work...

One must realize, Osama is a common name in that region of the world and the story is about a young girl who sees how brutally women are treated by the Taliban, so she is disguised by her mother as a boy so she can live a more 'normal' life... this is a beautiful and sensitive story with a wonderful premise... this is also certainly a political statement, but a statement in support of the Western World... I'd like to see more of these films this year, and I will... one of the films currently in pre-production right now and to be produced in association with my own film company is to be filmed completely in Thailand, but of a different genre, a story about what happens when the centuries old Thai culture steeped in tradition comes face to face with the Western World...

My sincerest apologies if I caused you any discomfort in my post, it was merely intended to point out that the film was not anti-American...
