Thanks for joining us JAPG.Can you describe in more detail how you have these panels installed and what would be required under freezing conditions? How do you store heated water and info on pumps etc..The last 3 days i was at my camp in the bush to see how my simple "winter" water system works. It consists of a 1100 watt grunfos soft start pump (I am sure you would be familiar with grunfos)in a dug well 8 ft deep..#10-3 wire and 3/4 in continuos poly pipe run from well 230 feet to water tank in camp..they are buried just a few inches underground but on a constant slope so that water runs back into well when the pump is shut off.The check valve in the pump was removed.Anyway this system works very well as it was -35 C one day-25&-29 the other two and it worked on all occasions<<ggg>>.The plastic 100 gal water tank was installed high up (valted ceiling)in kitchen of camp..water coming into camp was just above freezing but within hours was warm enough for washing due to raging fire in Fisher wood stove and heat rising to warm the tank.Open tap and walk away and camp returns to-35 until the next visit.
