Al Re...Don't be an a$$hole...you used the link

I didn't supply the link originally, Surckla did. I merely pointed out that that quote would be troublesome to Kerry, for several reasons. If Kerry was telling the truth,( And you will note I said self proclaimed.), then would the American people want a self admitted war criminal with his hand on the button. Secondly, there are very few who believe, the Army's version of free fire zone, meant kill all the civilians you want, at will, within a zone; such as Calley did; and Kerry wants to claim. Thirdly, if Kerry didn't participate, but his men under his command did, then how effective of a commander is he. Fourthly, if it was an outright lie, as you claim to nobly stop the killing, couldn't Kerry have found a better way to stop the killing than disgracing all of the men in uniform, who didn't perform such acts. Were there men who performed such acts in the services, yes; but I would contend, they were the exception, rather than the rule. Why disgrace everyone, for the acts of a few. Finally, if Kerry was mainly against the Nam war itself, not his men,or his fellow soldiers,he should have limited his remarks to reflect that position. He didn't, and that was a mistake; maybe not then, but now it will haunt him.
