I don't think most women involved in sexual liasons with powerful men feel the need to rat on them.

I think it depends on the amount of emotional investment involved, the promises made, the promises kept, etc.

If a powerful man is up-front about his intentions and is dealing with a more or less mature woman, probably no repercussions since it is probably a truly consensual thing. The problems arise when the woman is young, impressionable, and the man lies about what he wants and why he wants it. Monica was the epitome of this kind of affair, Jennifer Flowers of the other.

I don't think I've ever read any of President Johnson's women ratting on him, and he claimed to have had quite a few.

He sure did. The most prominent I know of was Senator Helen Gahagan Douglas of California back in the 40s. Nixon beat her in '48.

When "Ladybird" dies, I expect a book out called "LBJ's women." It will be quite a list.
