Ted Re...If Kerry was such a bad commander, why do guys in his former company greet him with open arms? Politics. Furthermore, why can't neocons understand that Vietnam was a mistake much like Iraq is becoming? While it is true, you and your liberal friends want Iraq to turn into another Nam, there are many key differences. In Nam, it was the US who was supporting the bad guys, Diem, and Thieu, not the other way around. Secondly, the first part of the operation was finished in record time. Thirdly, we hope to turn the gov. over to the citizens of Iraq, or its gov. council, on June 30. Fourthly, there is no Russia, or China to worry about here. Iran could still rear its ugly head, but chances are minimal, that Iran will kill the deal. Fifthly, we do have interests in Iraq and the Me, which we didn't have in Nam.
