What is catastrophic is the results of lying and cheating by one spouse or another on the family structure. If a child never learns the truth behind his parents inability to have a meaningful, trusting relationship it really doesn't lessen the impact of the pain and suffering the whole family experiences. I don't know what the statistics are for divorce after a revelation of infidelity, but my guess is the household would experience great strain and tension during the discovery and after affects, and that children suffer greatly as a result. Our society would be better off if more people took their wedding vows seriously and it would definitely be better off without a philanderer in the White House. M
