Mephisto,
The Bush campaign will use Kerry's habit of vote straddling to design humorous TV ads--those are usually very effective with voters.

The Dems pander so badly with large portion of their base, teachers, when they attack NCLB. It merely requires schools to account for federal funding by demonstrating through testing that students have learned at least their grade level in each subject. IMO that's a minimal standard & it's an outrage it has not already been achieved, since American taxpayers pay more per student than any other country. It's critics label NCLB as an 'unfunded mandate' which is ridiculous--education community receives billions already & now they demand even more in order to accomplish a minimum. The teachers' unions fight against accountability which every worker in private sector takes for granted.
