Mephisto,
The national press does not seem to be interested in checking out the affair rumor. In fact, I'll go so far as to say that I believe this yr the national media has decided it's time to replace Bush, so they chose our candidate for us & will not be distracted by even scandals until he's in the White House. Evidently, the media decided Kerry's military record would provide a lively campaign & easy story for next 9mos so they got the momentum train started down track for Kerry right after Iowa & the DC insiders jumped aboard(Chris Matthews is one of the most obvious). The Wash insiders smell high level DC appointments. Possibly Matthews wants the WH press secretary position. We'll see. They'll continue current pandering to lobbyists & average citizens will be on outside looking in once again.

I've heard more than once, that the media really does like Edwards. If a miracle happens & Edwards somehow upsets Kerry, I would definitely vote for him...unless he asserts he'll be the UN's best friend as Pres or something almost as foolish.
