it had different dynamics, but i was in Argentina when deval occured. corporate revenue/earnings were in pesos, and many corporations carried significant unhedged debt in USD. after peso devalued aprox 3 to 1, increase in earnings stream uncertainty, debt in USD, you could hardly give away the stock. it took many long months to get to the point where equities could be fairly valued internationally and regain some liquidity.

because of high us market liquidity and visibility, i expect repricing during/after deval to occur relatively quickly on an ongoing basis.
