Al Qaeda is and continues to be a threat. The problem is that Bush keeps telling the American people that they need to keep him in office to fight that threat. And he kept that threat alive even when there was no threat. Remember those days pf raising and lowering the threat levels. Caused a lot of disruption. Then it suddenly went away. Strange that it vanished so quickly.

Then came the next wave. Instead of changing alarm alarm levels in the US and causing havoc to the local events such as the st ock market etc., then the Bushies engaged in somewhat different tactics; the threat exists outside of US borders. Hence they started to cancel International flights coming into the US. Well Hello Mr. President. Why have you cancelled this many flights and come up empty handed? Is it for real Mr. President or are you making it up. After all it is easy to make up stories and cry wolf.

And then where it really matters, which is in Iraq, the Al Qaeda really hits hard with those series of truck bombings. The war on terrorism needs to be more effective than Bush has demonstrated. There is room for better performance on that front as there is on the economic front.

Bush's performance is something like the non-fat milk performance where we can say that yes non-fat milk is milk all right but not of the 2% or 4% type of milk.
