Yes, the spread sheet compares price only. I compare Friday's closing price with the close 1, 2, 3 and 4 weeks ago, hoping to find emerging sectors. I then sort on the most recent week's activity, so the best performer for the recent week tops the list. But, none of that seems to really point me at a sustained winner.

Part of the problem with Rydex funds is there are too few of them. I'm not sure of that statement, entirely, but this approach to comparing funds worked for me several years ago when I was ranking a variety of "regular" mutual funds.

Give me a link to your thread please. I have cable, so time shouldn't be a problem.
