Some rural property is looking pretty good right about now. I've had good luck buying parcels since '00, sold some in December, now buying again. My formula is w/in 1 hr of a metro area, upgradeable with some research into county regs. It's hands-on, but that's enjoyable too if you're into that, splitting time between the market, my tech biz and a dozer putting in roads and building pads. Your article on interest rates exploding, and/or the debt bubble imploding -- its bothersome when an analyst has no explanation except, "uncharted territory", after describing trillions in new derivitives and huge spike in household debt, and if gov't figures are lying about both income and jobs, there will be some serious deflation of assets. Its a question of what will maintain during a correction. Rural ppty has interest rate risk, so I'm getting done by this year, to wait until after the terror of the election.
