I'm not making that claim at all. You made this statement:

You did NOT qualify this statement by excluding WWI and WWII. Therefore, your suggestion that the children of the rich and powerful do NOT SERVE is false.

Also, in your original post you did not make this qualification either:

Can you name ONE son of a then senator or congressman that did combat duty in Vietnam, much less died there?

You are attempting to change your argument. You have stated as FACT that the children of the rich and powerful do NOT SERVE. That's my point.

Maybe the rich and powerful with a few exceptions, will only serve when the cause is just; like Bush said the other day " Viet nam was a political war".
