You may spend money on a TV add supporting your candidate ( outside of the mandated dead times ). But if you SPEAK with your candidate and ask him his opinion on how to make your ad more effective, you have broken the law.

How anyone can be comfortable with Congress telling citizens what they can and cannot say to a their candidates is beyond me.
