You really question whether there are "private institutions"? You just named a bunch of them in the beginning of your post: marriage, faith, commerce, education. There are public schools (public institutions) and private schools (private institutions), family (private social institution) vs. say the DMV (a public social institution that regulates drivers).

In any case, getting back to my original post, I was saying that we're all socialists to one degree or another if we rely on public insitutions (which many of us rely upon without even thinking about it, like when you get into your car and drive on a public road). That is, unless you are totally self-reliant, like living in a cabin providing your own food and water, in that case you can proclaim yourself to be a completely private person.
