" Perhaps it was always so but it wasn't so obvious in the past because middle-class people, like ourselves, were always under attack by the Marxists and were included with the "ruling-class" as the bourgeoisie --- the great evil of the "workers". Now it is clear, however, that in the new "order" the middle-class are as much under attack as the working-class and, indeed, are just as insecure, if not more so. "

I remarked on this before: Funny how the great ideologies of our time....Communism and Capitalism, although seemingly miles apart, when taken to their ultimate conclusion, results in a system which looks very similar. Your above observation describes a kind of two class system, and we are evolving to this point rapidly now. Workers and Corporations, just like in Communism it was the workers and the State. The State has become subservient to business, and has become a tool of Capitalism.

Fortunately we still have freedoms which holds us apart from the closed Communist experiment. The other observation I have is that Capitalism has so far delivered a much higher standard of living. But unfortunately, the Capitalists are ever busily eroding even those redeeming features for the benefit of themselves.

Hopefully I will never see troops on the street, stopping people from freely expressing their views even if they are contrary to the Capitalist/Corporate agenda.

I know I must sound like some kind of left wing nut, but I am not. In fact, I have never supported left wing politics. But lately, I have become alarmed at the growth of Corporate power and its implications. This is the New World Order, an unwritten pact or brotherhood between the great International Corporations and Government, and each one feeding upon and supporting the other.

At least Mr. Orwell would understand what I am trying to say.
