You can see how the right-wing is attacking McCain almost as much as they attack Kerry.

Right. Hit-pieces, larcenous lies/distortions/perversions of the truth from the Bush-led GOP heaped on anyone who may slow the path to dictatorial takeover of the country. Which is why McCain ought to do the honorable thing and switch. I doubt he will, either, but he should.

However -- they haven't even begun to attack Kerry. Just wait until the media pundits go 99% against Kerry, then you'll know he's being attacked. So far its just been playtime.

Ways the GOP lies:

1) Think tanks, rustle up enormously detailed rationales for character assassination.

2) Public relations firms, ditto

3) Pundits across the media, to ridicule, spread rumors, and suppress response

4) Bully pulpit, to issue keywords into the above machinery

5) Stories in the foreign media, intended for US audience

6) Co-dependent politicians, threatened and bought off, given their talking points and made to stick to them.

7) "Commissions", led by above co-opted politicians to make the lies official.

8) Hired/selected "average joes" on call-in talk shows, and shills like the recent Nat'l Guardsman who "witnessed" Bush in Alabama (except he claims times when he couldn't have been there)

9) Public appearances in front of crowds that are told, literally, they cannot attend the Bush appearance unless they cheer loudly, shout, and "applaud vigorously".

We will see a constant array of such events from now until Bush is gone from the scene.
