Normally we don't save much by heating with wood, but this year it's been fun to see how long I can keep the furnace from kicking in.

I asked my younger son last night what his natgas bill is running, he said $300 last month.
He has the bottom unit of a 3 flat, about 1800 sq ft. It is an old building, brick, no insulation, etc, but he does collect the other 2 rents, which are high because of the area, and I suggested it might be time to flip it to a developer for a teardown...
(They put up new 3 story condos and sell them in the 450-550k range, each floor!)
