I got this from Dick Lugar, the top foreign affairs expert in the GOP Senate. Lugar was very unhappy about Bush's lack of engagement with North Korea and was one of the first to sound the alarm that GW needed to change course. Also sounding the alarm was Bush Sr', but not for the right reasons. Carlyle Group had recently bought a big Korean Bank and he tension from NK hurts the Korean economy.
