The outsourcing of jobs is a trend that will be hard to stop.

I think that the way to survive is more automation. This is an area in which America excels.

Of course a bunch of robots will end up taking the type of jobs that were outsourced anyway and not paying taxes, but what will survive is the infrastructure that surrounds this first layer of jobs. There would be a whole variety of new jobs, from the unskilled mopping of oil that drips from the robot arms, to the highly skilled design of neural networks.

The second to worst thing we can do is try to race the third world to the bottom of wages and protections. The worst thing is to continue the borrow and spend and put your head in the sand policy of Bush.
