SPeaking of that. Here is a little example: In the 122 years that Democrats were the majority party in Texas, (1872-1994) only 2 Hispanics held statewide elected office. and money??? Under the administrations of Republican GOvernors GEorge Bush and Rick Perry, state agencies have invested more resources in the 32 county BORDER region than ever. Agency-Dept. of Health: 1. Dems in 1991 $77 million 2. Republican control 2000 --$1.53 billion.....1,887% increase. Housing and Community affairs: 1. Dems in 1991...$20.4 million 2. Republicans in 2000...107.4 million....426% increase just two examples.
