I don't think the Geneva Convention forbids us from interrogating captured terrorists

I am tired of repeating the same things - Geneva Convention applies to the prisoners of Guantanamo, most of whom are captured in Afghanistan fighting US forces. That they are "terrorists" is just your opinion, something the rest of us cannot know until they are allowed access to courts to tell their side of the story. Most were caught in Afghanistan, while fighting US forces. That makes them soldiers or plain simple people with guns fighting an invasion. It does not make them "terrorists".

But if your interrogation of the Geneva convention were valid, the convention should be immediately scrapped. PERIOD

What on earth is "interrogation of the Geneva Convention"???

You are making very clear your animus against my country

Oh so now quoting articles of the Geneva Convention and pointing out the relevant parts to a stubborn SI poster previously ignorant of the said articles is having an "animus" against your country.

Which gives me less respect for your opinions

You know why talking to you is difficult? Because you have problems separating plain statement of fact from opinion.

I have stated no opinion but only pasted articles of the Geneva Convention. That these articles say a bit more than what you THOUGHT they comprised is not my fault. You should have taken a look at what they said before.

They were fighting with and for a terrorist movement which did commit a string of attacks against America, culminating in the 911 attacks

Some of them. Others picked up a rifle when they saw American soldiers coming towards them. Others were SOLD to US forces in a BOUNTY HUNT and had nothing to do with no fight.

It is apparent you regard as a terrorist only those individuals we catch in the act of committing a terrorist act.

Or belonging to a terrorist cell. Or planning a terrorist attack.

That isn't acceptable for me or my country

Fortunately for the world, you can't speak for your country.

Re. the Geneva convention, you are the one said we shouldn't have the right to interrogate captured terrorists</>

What?

I doubt there are many 13 year olds in Guantanamo.

Not anymore, but a thirteen year old DID stay in Guantanamo for TWO YEARS. And two others between ages 13-15.

rense.com

Do you think it was OK to hold three boys aged 13-15 in a military prison for two years, to then go and say "Oops, you are not terrorists, go back home and play now."???
