"I didnt say Bush managed to scare me by his words- because I never believed him about Saddam, or WMD's"

What is it that you didnt believe? Intelligence agencies all over the world did believe he had wmds so what was your belief based on? Also, you didnt believe him about saddam. What didnt you believe--that he had used wmds on the iranians, on his own people? Did you not believe he killed tens of thousands of his own people, probably a hell of alot more over the years.
As to your conclusion, you do have a good alternate view, if we in fact knew that there were no wmds. But history will judge. If iraq becomes pacified and evolves into the first arab democracy, our forcing the issue, become priceless in terms of our interests and the interests of arab people everywhere. Certainly now that the war is part of history, we should all be rooting for a good outcome there rather than trying to validate our pre-war views. I am talking to your but also to bill and myself and all of us who supported the war, perhaps for the wrong reasons or perhaps wrongly if things dont turn out well. But we can all hope for a good outcome. mike
PS i would normally edit this better but i am off to a conference call. As to my ignoring you, i hate to do that so i didnt. You just shouldnt assume that because you believe something that everyone else does. I know there is great division in this country. Debate makes us strong. Hopefully we can lose some of the rancor. Gotta go/
