hmaly,

re: There are always certain types of companies who make more in times of war, especially the weapons manufacturers. That shouldn't come as a surprise to you.

It's not a surprise to me. It's the support services that are new; food, laundry... all the HAL stuff. This used to be done by grunts. Huge profits to be made by a whole new set of companies. Then you've got Chaney, the former CEO of HAL, as the number one hawk in the administration.

It may not be a decision where Chaney says "hey, think I'll promote a war to benefit my buddies at HAL". But it lowers the bar, it adds a benefit. Essentially we've elected a (former) war profiteer to VP, with all the prejudice that implies.

re: LOL Ah the truth now finally comes out. You are a closet conservative, in liberal clothing. Better be quiet about it, as Ted thinks every Rep. president was/is bad, and deserves to be pilloried, no matter what.

If you didn't believe that I was conservative on MANY issues, you haven't read my posts. I'm farther right than you are, as evidenced by your support of the ultimate liberal Bush.
